    Thursday Thoughts.One Word writing.

I thought I would share this link on a fun writing site which gives you 1 word and 60 seconds to write on that word. Speedy and great way to work on writing that can fit into a busy schedule. Today my word was “decoy.” Here is one sentence I wrote on it: The downtown investigative department used a decoy to apprehend the suspects who had robbed the firework stand last Thursday.
http://www.oneword.com/ Check the site out. Simple, but fun. So I thought today to have some fun even if for a few minutes and do something different.

Fireworks with a colorsplash Heading into Holiday

    013005

    012018019

I had thought I would not get to my red, white and blue up this year for the 4th. I had been sick for about 6 weeks with Pertussis. I was behind on a lot that I had to do. I thought doing the redecorating was not a top priority.

Each year I redecorate with my different holiday collections and according to season for July-August, September-October, November, December, January-February, March, April, and May-June.

I usually just dust around my nick nacks on the edges until I pull everything down. So Saturday the looks of the dust after 3 months made me cringe.

So I went ahead and did it. I Pulled them, dusted the display place. I put some pieces in their proper boxes and I kept out many that go with my Summer Deco theme. This time around I kept out blue , red and white objects that fit for the 4th. I then brought out my specific holiday stuff which consists of about 14 items specifically made for the day. It takes me about 4 hours, but decorating is in my blood. This is when everything finally gets dusted and suffice it to say the 3 month spread from May-June is pretty long and it gets real dusty. Not to mention the same ole, same ole pretty stuff has become stale.

Maybe it was vanity, but We have company coming this Friday and I just could not stand the faded look of my Spring setting and the dust could be embarrassing.

I do not have the best digital camera and my photos are not professional, but here are several photos of a few hot spots on the theme.

Oh and I might add that I usually craft 2 or 3 new things to add out there. One day I will have to part with a few things when the collection gets to large. So some things in these photos were made or recycled this year.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been battling with feelings of depression this week but you’ve certainly made something beautiful from it. I particularly like the top and bottom photos. Praying for a better week for you this week.

I like this post because I see hope in the midst of darkness. Nice job with the flower on the dry cracked earth. It is a very powerful statement.
The horse is directly looking at your camera and making a connection in this photo. Great shot!
Not every day is the same. This too shall pass with your melancholy days.

I had a nice little blog share to go on here and the picture I tried to add sent me off my post and I lost the whole thing and the work I had spent. The draft of the post had also been messed with and almost every bit I had done was lost. So this is it for today. This is just a bad hair day I guess since several things like this have been thrown at me.That is why I have this theme, so I can just post a status and move on when I am totally frustrated.

MEMORIES through Vintage Plates with CURVES wpphotochallenge

Plates I got at a 2nd hand store. Some I am using and some are just for show, What memories these could give if they could talk. If only life’s curves were as smooth to the touch as their edges.

In this picture, the organizers are the pretty things. I prefer the finished products to be the pretty things displayed. Not that I don’t love pretty organizers… 🙂

Tags: 100 day cough, choking cough, fainting, foaming mucis, Pertussis, , terrible coughing, whooping cough

I am going on week 6 of Pertussis, aka: whooping cough. About a week and 1/2 ago, I sat there thinking. I had just thrown up very strangely from coughing. I almost had fainted. I spun and everything went black. I was being choked. This next comment is not for the weak of heart: the mucus coming up foamed like a volcano going off and stuck. It was so strange. I had been diagnosed with bronchitis. I thought, ” I have had bronchitis at least 20 times in my life and this is no bronchitis memory I have ever had. I also had had 2 rounds of Prednisone plus 2 antibiotics-of which one was extremely strong. Since the cough was the worse when I used my asthma inhaler, I decided to look up inhaler use and why it would cause this. I read someone mentioning whooping cough. I went and read further. I had told my kids I had to make a weird sound to get my breath back after a coughing fit. This happened as the spell ended, and upon gasping for breath It clicked, “this is what I have.” It lasts from 5 weeks to 3 months.” I feel good on some days, but still have about 3 bad coughing fits. I am really weak some days and can hardly do more than computer things.

I had thought because of immunizations that this illness was eradicated pretty much. I was wrong and I would not wish it on anyone. It is really bad in some areas.

To learn more and for further study, I found this link helpful. It has audios of the sound I mentioned: http://www.whoopingcough.net/symptoms.htm
