    HANDMADE HYACINTH

IMG_20140411_2346551-290x290HANDMADE HYACINTH. This is on my docket this week;  I just moved into a cute 1 bedroom apartment I was waiting 4 months to open up. Needless to say, I need something fresh, bright and new for my lovely windowsill. It is always an excuse to make something handcrafted myself also.

My weekend wanderings are taking me to visiting “fresh pressed blogs” I discovered on my own, it being too hot now to venture forth outside.

I am thinking there are also other flower tutorials on this site. Enjoy these on the first actual days of summer.

     See link for directions.

Why not try a book? That is, a REAL book, made from paper, printed, and all the rest of it … 😀 😀 😀

Aw, I do those too. It is just so much easier to go places with my kindle. Also I have several book on there for book clubs and the summer challenge on there which is up to 100 books. Only so much room on my shelves. I will never be without books. It is also easier to read with the kindle on my long walks since books are more cumbersome.

When I lost my first Kindle, I was lost. Looked high and low and had to get another.

A boy found mine where my husband works. It had been out in the pouring rain and weather for quite awhile. I figured it would not work. It charged and will work any where but left on scroll so I cannot get it off being set to my collections. I am going to work with it when I have a chance to fix it. I also was about ready to use my gift cards for another. Hate to lose something like that.

Glad you found yours. Hope you can get it to work again.

Love for Lists. Tuesday Thinking of…..

I love lists. It is so hard for me to keep from reading one of almost any subject if I see one on the internet and “working” Oh the perils of managing your own time and accountability only to yourself!

I also write lists every day. I have actually tried to force myself to not write that “to do” list once and awhile and just relax and “go with the flow” on some days, but it never works. I just want to sleep and am pulling my hair out. I find myself making a list and my left hand just can’t stop my right from doing it. My daily lists usually have anywhere from 15 to 100 things I want to do daily. there is my list of things I try to do daily at the top such as exercise, a load of laundry, work emails, (Yes, even when it is supposed to be my day off; Such is the life of selling stuff on line!) I sweep through the house and pickup all over room by room as fast as I can do it. It is not a perfect sweep by any means and I do try to do it at night before bed also. On work days and some other nights this does not pan out well. I am too tired or just do not want to stop working on building my businesses.

Anyway, here are few sites that fulfill my list cravings:

http://www.listof.org/ Many helpful lists when you need something. Not just fun lists to read.

http://listverse.com/ This is my favorite site for lists.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_lists_of_lists thgis is the never ending list spot. They go on and on. Start with a list, then find another one on the page you went to and spend days there> Reminds me of the guy that died playing video games because he went without stop for about a week. (Yes I did read this fact on a list site. lol)

Put lists on your search engine and see what you find.

So do you make to do lists, grocery lists, fun lists, vacation lists or such and are like me lost without one. Do you like lists or hate them like some people I know? Perhaps you read lists, but do not like to write them. What is your take on lists of any kind-you find?

My internet is acting up and somehow I got an extra photo on there for DIY I did with coasters. At one time they were on a list of craft ‘to do’s’, so am leaving them here.

Excited about Reading Challenge on Good Reads

    https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/21757-the-seasonal-reading-challenge

If you are on Good Reads or in any book club anywhere, you may participate in boo challenges.

    About a 1/2 month back I joined :

The Seasonal Reading Challenge group. It is fun it seems, but really a lot of work; I spent over 6 hours preparing for the summer challenge which began yesterday. (Now you know where I was as I did not show up on WP. lol) The challenges run 4 times a year and as you probably guessed with each season.  RAH, RAH. the spring one was closing up when I took the plunge into the group so I was waiting for summer to hit.

There are a lot of tasks to do. This is what took me so long. I just want to get to doing them and reading so I laid the ground work of picking books for tasks. Some books on my Kindle and some on my shelf I have not read yet, were added. Books I have to read for June in other groups that I could make fit into a task were written down. I also checked books that fit for specific tasks(after much time searching) to see if I could get them at the library. I may end up buying a couple, but 2 out of 40 is not bad.

This is going to be some work. I am truly exhilarated by it though.  I really have not set my sights on doing every job listed which may reach beyond 100 books in 3 months time, but I am giving it my best shot, reading (my favorite thing in the world) and doing something to make me reach  higher. You do win or earn things for completing the whole page, but I will earn the satisfaction or a race well done. Here is the list of tasks for those with ‘courage’ to check it out:

    https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1823521-summer-challenge-2014-tasks

One section of the tasks (copied and pasted.):

    15.1 – Moms and Dads
    Help Thread
    Read two books:
Book A, by a female author, must be written during your mother’s lifetime, but not your own. Ex. – my mother was born in 1933 and I was born in 1953, so I would read a book by a female author first published in 1933-1952.
    AND
Book B, a book written by a male author, during your father’s lifetime, but not your own.

You need not state the exact years if you don’t want to, but you must state in your post that the book was first published during your mother’s/father’s lifetime and before you were born.

This is one I am doing.

If you have read thus far, you see a link for a help thread. Each thread has help. (I feel sorry for those moderating; they must not have 3 retail internet businesses like me. lol) Especially if new, you need to get books you have picked okay-ed by a moderator and when you are finished with a task, post it as completed exactly as the task rule given.
