    African Fish Eagle

For National Eagle Day, I thought I would share a great post from a great blog featuring a African Fish Eagle. Looks somewhat like a bald eagle. Beautiful. Check it out.

    Haliaeetus vocifer

If there is one sound that is symbolic of Africa’s waterways, it must be the call of the African Fish Eagle. It is the national bird of several African countries, and the South African presidential jet carries its Zulu name Inkwazi. They occur over almost all of Sub-Saharan Africa in close association with rivers, lakes, dams, swamps, estuaries and lagoons. As can be deduced from their name, African Fish Eagles subsist mainly on a diet of fish (weighing up to 2kg) snatched from the water in flight, though they will also catch baby crocodiles, terrapins, small mammals and other birds (up to the size of flamingos), scavenge the catches of other waterbirds like storks and herons and feed on carrion. Adults can weigh over 3kg and have a wingspan of almost 2.5m.

African Fish Eagle pairs are monogamous, pair for life and…

Thank you very much for sharing our post with your friends! Our African Fish Eagle is actually a close relative of your Bald Eagle – the family resemblance is clear I suppose.
      😀
      Happy National Eagle Day!

Summer Recipes I Cannot But Share:

My 2 prior posts were pressed and look so delicious I cannot wait to try them. I thought my followers might love to go over and see how yummy they look and even add them to something to make this summer. Enjoy: Just head over to the blogs in my 2 prior posts or look under the link for my Kitchen-Food category.

And I guarantee these frozen treats look better than this ice cream clip art, but I know you get the point.

And here I thought you were going to explain how to get perfect balls of ice cream. I always scoop with the ice cream scoop and I get a curl of icecream, which I give the kids. They think they’re getting 3 scoops when it’s really all hollow, just one scoop! Ha. Psyche! They have no idea. This only works when they’re small, later on they cotton to the fact that the ice cream ball isn’t really a ball.

      On to the recipe.

Yeah, then you have to share and stuff. I could teach them early on how not to be cheated (you just WEIGH the ice cream. Boom. Everyone gets the same amount) but where’s the fun in that?

Ah, this looks really delicious. I may try it. I recall friends making pineapple with rum, putting it in foil and barbecuing it. It was fantastic tasting. I wonder if you could just use the broiler to get the same effect with this?

It’s difficult to keep our blogs updated, sometimes our own minds and bodies can be our worst enemies. Personally it helps me to exercise three times per week, it not only shapes the body but the mind to be more disciplined. Despite that, I’m struggling to keep my blog updated as much as I’d like and sometimes feel overwhelmed by all the aspects a webmaster has to take care of. What I’m doing is taking baby steps, I take the time I need to learn the new tricks like SEO, social marketing or monetization and stop worrying about putting content on the blog. Imho blogging has to be a balanced journey between the right amount of struggle, effort and a healthy dose of having fun, learning new abilities.

      Take care.
