    Locked in…..Regrets

“Of all the words of mice and men, the saddest are, “It might have been.”-Kurt Vonnegut  via Good Reads

Lately, I am regretting so much of my life.

” I never ever thought this could happen to me.”

That being the awesome and full of potential individual I am that I would reach a certain age and look back on what appears to be a ” wasted life.”

This is a long story and even with the ” air” running, my trailer is hot and so stifling I doubt if I can tell it all in one sitting.

But with the way I have been feeling the last couple weeks, I figured the Word Press Daily prompt here :  Word Press Daily Writing Prompt, fit so aptly with all the regrets that are haunting me so I cannot breathe- even though I try to be positive-I thought like journaling, putting them out here on my blog as the notebook page would be a way to vent and gain control of the melancholia which has me in its grasp.

As I said, it is quite a long story. I want to get it going because of the prompt for today. But the heat will have me fleeing to the coolest room in the house soon.

Anyway, though I would love to do a very long post and cover all of my disappointments right now, I think I am going to make this a series. I really would like to have these posts on a schedule, but my shifting sand life with all the extraneous circumstances make it extremely hard to have any schedule at all. That coupled with my anxiety, depression and extreme  sensitivity which makes me even hide from people, and even as crazy as it seems  also interactions on the internet.

I really like blogging photography and short posts because I always have so much going on. I am amazed by bloggers I follow and individual blog posts I discover, how some people either type so well, unlike me or have the time to post long written out articles like this one all the time. (* I have been on Word  Press today visiting blogs I follow, following up on my visitors, like and comments as well as finding prior unknown blogs that have encouraged me, awed me with beauty and expanded my horizons making me thankful.

I actually prepared a couple photos today for photo challenges I follow, which are my favorite blogs to do. They are fun and happy to do. I love photography and have learned a lot, becoming better at it-In spite of just using a cell phone- as well as playing around on photo editing spots. (Cell phone camera fits in with my “regrets”….More on that in another post.( Let’s start from birth with this sad journey.) I warn you, though, the worst of the saga comes much further on.

It is said, ” Do not cry over spilled milk.” Which is great but what if it is not only a glass or gallon but a trough -full that drowns those in its path? And the years have passed and blurred so fast, you were never able to clean  any of it up and it has soaked in and ruined the ground you are standing on.

I was told I always have a choice in everything. At the time, I agreed with this counselor. But then, I thought, “Do most of  those victims in the right place at the wrong time choose to be tortured, held against their will and raped chose that to happen in their lives?” Not all of life is in our control.

I said the latter to draw the conclusion that many things I umbrella under the “regret” theme I had nothing to do with, nothing I could have prevented. The main regret, though, that led to much fallout was even though, I was young and ignorant/ naive of so much in life. One major bad decision………

So let us start at the beginning. Circumstances beyond my control, no choice in the matter…. I was adopted ( My parents were wonderful and that is not the issue.) I was adopted because my mother was only 17, I do not even know if my biological dad knows I exist. And there are things that effect you in the womb I did not know then and actually back then no one knew much either.  It is being discovered how  pre-birth connections have a major effect on the baby.  To be continued……………….

I thought I had replied to you, but I do not know where it went. So if I replied elsewhere just note, my mind is gone. Just in case, either way, thank you.

I also find it difficult to write a long post, so I really appreciate the effort you put into this one. It’s very well written and I love that meme at the end. Hugs xx

I tend to write in short spurts too. I hope that writing helps you … and I’m really sorry to hear how you’re feeling. Know that you’re not alone.

Well written and the meme at the end clearly demonstrates that you have a strong SOH! I guess there are very few of us that have not experienced some kind of depravation at the hands of another … we can’t control or change that, it does shape us but doesn’t define us … how we use that ‘lesson’ to grow is up to us?

It’s just me of course, but I generally have a practice relative to regret: I rebuke it and send it back to the pit it came from.
Self-importance is what my psyche seeks with indulging in regret. Yes, I could’ve dis and dat, humph. Yeah right, given the circumstances, time, my mental state, period and etc., I would have just done a different variable of “Waste” is all. Be careful with regret, it wants to freeze you in time. Stop, enjoy the present moment and give thanks for that. It’s just another version of “The grass is greener…” You will be fine.

Adventure Discover in a different Manner

This is my first post for the Daily Post Discover challenge, which is here :  Daily Post Weekly Discover Challenge.  They take a blog post on discover ( Find this on the upper left of your menu in your reader. ) and use one chosen off that link for a theme.

This week the theme is ” Adventure.” They chose a great blog to “play off of” on hiking “adventures” ( If you like outdoors or hiking, in general, go check it out.) Maps, beautiful pictures and posts on stuff needed for hiking and more. The link above will take you there by way of this Daily Post.

I haven’t been hiking for a few years and feel really bummed. It is not my top hobby or sport like it is for them, but I used to do it for exercise a few times a year. Needless to say, busy life has gotten in the way. Once and awhile I schedule it and something always comes up. What a great motivator and reminder this blog is.

But every day can be an adventure for me.

It’s an adventure to come with ways to use items in the crafts I love to do:

    New Tan 100%

Using up things like these into something new. I am really into recycling or maybe it is called up-cycling?

    New Tan 100%

    Or These Buttons.

    New Tan 100%

    I Hate this Melancholia

Music is one of my top loves as far as earthly things go, that is, on this planet. It actually maybe at the top, but that can depend on my mood.

I hate that I can never be really happy or excited about things, because I know as soon as my over the top empathy kicks in, or something touches me so deeply with my emotions- Today I am referring to music-that I am in a pit again.I started my day pretty perky and yesterday was great. I felt like listening to a certain song, One of my favorite singer’s “so long ago songs” and then listened to one of his newer songs and it got me into crying as the melancholy descended with it’s doldrums.

Suffice it to say, I had to quit listening to him today because, I just wanted to cry. Music is deep to me and when something hits me with it, my heart can break.

Bipolar is no fun, though there is some wonderful fallout it gives. One, being a love of creativity and art, including music. Would be great if the one pole would not push me to cry like this though a couple times a month. Sigh……..

    The Liebster Award-Another Round

I guess I am sucker for Awards. Thanks to http://brownboyspeaks.wordpress.com/2014/09/03/the-liebster-award/. ( I read how to shorten links, but forget how since I do not use it enough. This link could be shortened!) So I was nominated for the leibster award again and could not resist. I agree with who nominated me that this is a great way to explore new blogs and support other bloggers.

    Here are the rules:

    • If you’re nominated, you must provide a link back to the person who nominated you.
    • Give 11 facts about yourself.
    • Answer the 11 questions created by the user who nominated you
    • Nominate 11 people & ask 11 questions for them to answer!

These are Eleven Facts About Me:

    1. I love antiques, vintage finds and retro stuff.

    2. I would love to spend 24 hours without sleep doing crafts or diy while watching you tube.

    3. Speaking of YouTube, I watch videos from a variety of subject including the crafts and diy; Today I am listening to videos on    psychopathic behaviors. I watch crime which connects sometimes with the latter. I watch movies and health videos. I listen  to music and almost daily listen and or watch a video that has something to do with online business.

    4. In spite of this, sometimes I wish I could escape the internet and go back to the days when I did not have it in front of me         and the have to’s to keep up with all my connections on here.

    5. So I have 3 places I am selling some of the things I love: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DappledMoonEmporium?                ref=search_shop_redirect Loving crafts and vintage stuff, you can discern why I am doing this. (Hint: I ran out of room to stor and display all my handmade and collections. I will keep a lot though. lol) I also sell my more up to date items and not woth as much stuff for credits on a site called ” Listia. I then can buy craft supplies with the credits which means no money is needed. Ebay did me good a few years back, so I am doing that with some items also. ( Since I do not want to go on and on here, I am not adding the links for the latter 2 .) I may post them someday, but I want to go easy on my readers and keep you from deciding not to read further. lol)

    6. I like unusual names and wish mine was not so common; I have about a dozen friends on Face Book with my 1st name.         Ugh!

    7. I could never figure out a certain career choice because I like so many different subjects.

    8. I have lived in Washington, Oregon, Montana , Florida and Missouri.

    9. The state I want to visit is Maine.

    10. I love chickens and cats. (Contradiction?)

    11. In reference to #10: I have what is called “brittle asthma” and have a deadly allergy to both animals. (This has been a             hinderence to me my whole life, though I count my blessings and live with it as well as I can.)

On to Part 2: Questions given me by brownboyspeaks:

    1. Who inspired you to blog?  I would say it has to be myself.
    2. What are your hobbies?  As stated prior, crafting, creating, collecting. I also read, love games, learn, internet, decotae my home. (Check out my photos on here, hin, hint.) Studying crime, missing people.Thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales. This and that. List making?
    3. How many languages can you speak? Please list all of them. Finally an easy one. English alone.
    4. Another easy one: How many countries have you travelled to? Never been out of U.S.
    5. When was the last time you were so drunk that you couldn’t walk straight? 25 years ago
    6. What is your comfort food? I would say any nut butter.
    7. Where is your favourite place that you have ever visited? Hard to name one, but a dream from my childhood was to visit Laura Ingall’s wilder home and museum in Mansfield Missouri which I did about 3 years ago.
    8. Do you own a smart phone and/or tablet? Yes, but gifted it to my kids to use.
    9. Do you know where Malaysia is? Yes, but would not be able to name it on a map for a perfect score.
    10. What is the one item that you ‘must’ bring whenever you travel? My Kindle
    11. What is your favourite colour? I have 2 : Coral, salmon color and teal, mint green colors.

Now the fun part: My nominee’s are….drum roll…..

I apologize to anyone that might see this that I have not been able to get on my “about me” page for several weeks because of my crappy rural internet in Missouri. (dish I might add via satellite.) Anyone have any ideas how to override and get on another way since this is part of my business building repertoire?. Really bad for your internet presence as an entrepreneur to have this. And we pay twice as much as other internet services we had elsewhere. For some reason “about me” takes too much memory ,etc.

    Abandoned Metropolitan State Mental Hospital.

I just had to press this.  This is from a wonderful blog I discovered today which was mentioned  as a “quick tip” in the Daily Post. I immediately  followed this blog  http://brokenlightcollective.wordpress.com/2013/03/11/bipolar-rubble/.      You post photos on mental issues and illnesses and write some about them. Pretty neat. I like the story told on this one and Love abandoned creepy buildings. so much so that I have several board on Pinterest I pin abandoned places to. This board has these places and more: http://pinterest.com/luvtapin/find-it-fascinating-oddities/  And I do have bipolar and all the trappings that go with it. I would not want to forgo my creativity from it though. Terrible, but terrific at the same time.

    Liebster Award

I am so excited. Over at http://ramisatheauthoress.wordpress.com/ I was nominated for the Liebster Award.  Check out her blog. It is full of laughter, but serious at some points. She is an author and gives great pointers in the field of writing type subjects. Oh and I have finally found someone that actually considers math her favorite subject.. I appreciate this nomination much so.

Now what to do to follow up on the reward: You will do :

    1. I will list 11 random facts about myself.
    2. I will answer the 11 questions asked of me by the person who nominated me.
    3. I will then nominate my 11 picks for the award along with my 11 questions for them to answer when they post a response.
    4. If you’re nominated, your name/link will appear at the bottom of this post along with your questions. Follow the same format, i.e. paste the award badge to your blog, give us 11 random facts about yourself, answer my 11 questions, and choose your nominees…but you cannot nominate the blog who nominated you.

    11 Random facts on myself:

    1. I keep chickens as pets.
    2. I have a son that is an underwater sea diver engineer.
    3. I cannot buy Nutella since it my greatest food weakness and will eat the whole jar.
    4. I live 8 miles out from the nearest grocery store and the town has only a population of 800.
    5. I went to state for top bread award when I was 12.
    6. 80% of what I read as far as books go is fiction mystery or suspense books.
    7. One of my ancestors came over on the Mayflower.
    8. My favorite flower is the Dahlia.
    9. I love to do DIY projects and make crafts.
    10. I get emails from sites that list by numbers odd and bizarre stuff because these things fascinate me.
    11. I love to spend time by myself. It is energizing to me.

Answering 11 question from Ramisa Raya. The hard part for me. Have patience please.

    1. When did you start Blogging, and for what reason? What influence does WordPress have on you?

I believe I started blogging in 2009 on blogger. I would give up and start again. I was without internet and moved about 3 times. True Story. I quit blogger a few months back  and decided to try Word Press. I got annoyed with blogger. I do love their templates, but I could not get some issues resolved resolved on there, such as  my blogs I followed were gone and any new blog I wanted to follow was without a follow button. I had never been reprimanded for anything wrong and it got so frustrating  for me.

I started blogging because It seems I want to try almost everything.

Because of WP exhorting with prompts, photo challenges, blog post helps and especially community I actually feel like I am getting somewhere in blogging for the first time.

    2. Name your favourite movie, television show and current favourite song. If you’d rather, you can name your all-time favourites too.

I am so boring……Actually I do not watch T.V. because of the time factor.  WE also could not get T.V. up until lately where we live.  Call me back woods. Before we moved to Missouri, I had no  T. V. , but did watch Monk on the computer when they put up full episodes. I do not even keep up with new shows. Movies: Once and awhile watch one on the computer with a DVD.  I go tot he theater a couple times a year. I love old black and white mystery and crime movies. My favorite of those would be,  The Strange Love of Martha Ivers.  It is hard to zero in on any one movie more up to date. I like : the Princess Diaries, Princess Bride, Inception, Loved Flight Plan and a movie with kind of the same plot starring Brittney Murphy who cannot find her fiance in the hospital. I cannot even recall the name of it, but want to see it again.  Older T.V. would be  Walton’s and Beverly Hillbillies. I also loved and watched  Malcolm in the Middle when I did have some  shows by antenna.  Favorite Song is One Thing Remains by Kristian Stanfill, but I love so many songs really hard to fixate on any one. I play one and think this is my favorite of all time and do the same with the next.

    3. Something you learned recently.

Actually today I learned how to antique metal on a lamp I got at a yard sale way back.  It is like bronze and I want to make it green or turquoise bronze.

4.Name three things that made you smile today (or laugh).

A book I am reading had  funny wit today-of my kind. An author friend of mine on Good reads, Troy Black ford makes me laugh anytime I see his Twitter posts. A funny pin on Pinterest was hilarious.

    5. Any guilty pleasures? (Cheesy songs, nose-wrinkle-worthy books, etc.)

    Nutella .lol

    6. This is your space. This is your time. Pretend you’re the last human on Earth: what do you wish you could’ve done? (Becoming a journalist, being more nice to your friends who’re now six feet underground, etc.)

I could wish to have Finished and studied everything I have held on my computer on Stumble and Pinterest or bookmarked and to have read every book on my to read list on amazon, my Kindle or Good reads and more to come.

    7.  What’s the weirdest YouTube video you’ve ever watched?

Ask me in April. My internet will not do video’s. I hate it. I know before I moved here and got stuck with the internet we had to get which has limits on use, I saw some strange ones , but none stick out in my mind from then.  Our contract for Hughes runs out in March and we are getting internet that just came to our area where you can watch videos and do games finally.

    8. Name one thing you can’t live without and what you’d endure in order to have it.

I cannot live without my bible. I would endure death for it’s promises.

    9.  Favourite subject in school? Or, if you’re out of school, a career path you always wish you explored.

Career Path: This is such a hard one for me. I married a man with a promise of never having to work out side the home. I have done a few jobs when we needed extra money and always did well, but never settled on any career. I started to think about college a few times, but did not like this aspect of this job, and  there were  too many choices; I got overwhelmed. I juggle about 100 hobbies-of the which I am told is not good. But I love them all. I love so many types of things , I had trouble singling into one niche, so though I sometimes think of getting a degree in a specific field, my head spins and I give up.

    10. Google your symptoms at this current moment (slight headache, aching back, etc.) and give us the most deadliest condition associated with them.

So fun. I have brittle asthma so with my symptoms  by searching I got asthma , but also lung cancer. I am glad I know it is asthma. Should not go and play with the chickens, why I am wheezy now..

    11.  Describe yourself with a word beginning with the first letter of your name.

Kreative. I know it should be C instead of K, but lots of  my boards on Pinterest, I use the K instead of the C.  Since it fits my name.  Naturally popped into my mind.

    My nominee’s:

I think I had nightmares in trying to come up with questions that are not just all one line,  easy to answer. Those are the questions I like, so that is most likely the reason my mind just goes there.  I do know it is good to answer harder questions so others get to know you in a more real manner and to make that brain of yours think.  So I have concluded I will do both. I do know I had several questions from Ramisa Raya that I could just say something quick also.  But I did discover it was kind of fun to answer the harder questions. I am reaching.

    So the questions:

    1. If you are a reader: In your opinion is a hard copy book, a digital book such as Kindle, nook, etc or an audio book  the mode you use most often and the whys of it? If you are not a book reader ,but do read magazines, newspapers, blogs-which I am taking for granted if you are doing a blog you must read something, what kind of subjects draw you in?
    2. What is your favorite web site and why-not including Word Press and if WP is give me your 2nd?
    3. Cat or Dog person and if you dislike both: What kind of pet do you have or like to have? If this still does not work, name the 1st animal that comes to mind. Or do all 3 questions if you want to. The last one sounds fun.

    10. Live by the seaside or on the mountain if able and maybe you do live by one. Which is your choice if  you were able to do that? Even if you do live by the ocean, you may with it could be a mountain instead and vice versa.
    11. If you do not care to answer this one, just say lol or I am not going there etc.  Are you more introverted inclined or extroverted? Pick me-hand raised. I will put this on myself also and go first? Introvert.

Thanks so much for the award  http://ramisatheauthoress.wordpress.com/about-2/. Also thanks to the award creator and any nominated who accept and follow up. It does take some time, and maybe not for everyone, but it is a goal to do and a slight variation from the norm. I have found you will come back from doing this post to finding the normal comes much easier.
