My first try at hot glue stencils. Hearts and Christmas stuff to use to make cute cards for my shop @https://www.etsy.com/shop/DappledMoonEmporium?ref=ss_profile
These are the ones that did not turn out so well, but can still be used though really not for what they were supposed to be.
So as I explained, I really would love to do one of these for a chicken. I also want to do some flowers. Maybe a mountain. They do not look the best, but I have watched other crafters use them on video and the art they did was really wonderful.
I just wanted to show everyone what I have been doing lately.
Now, about that chicken.
So I wanted to share my glue crafting supplies I made myself, but just knew that when I saw this I had to share it somewhere:
I did not think this was real , but supposedly it is a totally black chicken that has just been developed.
This would make the perfect Halloween chicken. I know we already passed Halloween by this year, but this is one creepy chicken breed. Pretty, but creepy.
What do you all think? Have you seen these?
What do you do with the hot glue stencils? Do you take them off the back and then use them as an outline when painting? Or do you use them as stamps and press them in ink? It’s a cool idea.
Brenda Davis Harshmam, I apologize so much for missing your comment. The holidays sent me awol on so much. I work full time now and just was off here for a couple months. I did not like that but with birthdays and those days, I just got very overwhelmed. I am now working less and have fit the blog back into my schedule.
Thanks for the question and hope you do not give up on me yet. I do exactly what you asked. Paint over or stamp. They was off well. I got the idea from https://thefrugalcrafter.wordpress.com/. I watch most of her videos. She has awesome ideas and tips in making stuff. I am not up to par with her, but learning and hopefully some day to be quick and as good at them as she is.
No worries, I thought it was a cool idea, but I wondered if it really kept its shape when you picked it up. It was just an idle thought, though. I am hard at work trying to get a book published, and working full-time myself. I don’t have a second to get the ink pads out. I really should. My daughter won’t be young forever. Maybe you will inspire me. 🙂
wow what an amazing photo
Thank you.
Thank you. You are so kind.
Why take a picture of a stick anyone sees any day on their lawn? But look at the next photo and you will totally get it.
It’s a pretty big walking stick! (I happened to have on gloves from working with my chickens to protect my skin from allergies.)
Cool est fungi ever discovered in my yard. Gel like and growing out of an indent in the wood holding it like a little vase.
Your first shot is so very beautiful.
Thank you.
I love the one with big walking stick. I have never seen such a big one of this kind before 🙂
I know. I hope he made it away from my chickens.
Our pretty “Little Black Hen.” had her 3rd large hatch of chicks last week. We were also given 2 chicks old enough to leave their mom which stick together like glue and give me lots of laughs. So this week for the challenge; I am sharing my little chicken farm.
Mama hen with a couple of her ten peeping from underneath. It Very hard to get close to them and get a picture since she gathers them up so quickly.
The older and larger chicks that were given us. I call them Tic and Toc. Very flighty and hard to get them to cooperate with the camera
Our Duck. She started out on a farm with this chicken so I think he gets annoyed with her banter, but he endures. His name is Chocolate Her name Sack.
2 Mama hens flashing me. I could not get them to stand still and face me long enough to snap the shot.

The last 2 pictures are little attachments I love having to do with chickens.
Such a great entry for this week’s theme. Thanks for playing.
Was fun and thanks.
Cool, that’s quite the little gang you have there 🙂 I’ll respond to the comment you left on my chickens post the other day in a minute, but I’ll be leaving a link to this post within it.
Thanks and looking forward to that.
Love this post
Thanks so much.
Great chicken farm!
Thanks. We had another hen appear today with 4 along with her.
Thank you.
I enjoyed this.
Thanks so much.
I of course chose dahlias…..Thanks for playing in this week’s challenge.
I love dahlias. Thanks for voting and including me in the fun.
I liked the tones of green from the first picture.
Thanks. I love that tone of green also.
Duck thinks she is a chicken. Can’t help but be happy when this is happening in the back yard.
Such a delightful photo!
Thank you so much for liking my post. I will try to visit your blogs also. Cee you are a pure encouragement.
You see he was born with a beak deformity which made it hard to eat. The other chickens took his food away since it took him so long to get it down. So I fed him inside. He thought the house was his special coop. My daughter and I saved him from death a few times.
I am thankful for the year and a half I had my special chicken. This Thanksgiving he was gone. A week prior we, had laughed as he ate dog food out of the dog bowl. The next day in the morning he was not at the door. He liked to sleep in the tree. We could not get him to go in the coop in the evening. Something got him, but I am so thankful for the time I had him and the laughter he brought..
Thanks for the likes.
