I Bring The “Beach” Inside

I thought I would join in this week with something I haven’t participated in for awhile, The Word Press Daily Prompt.  Besides, I love the theme of “Beach” ………

It has been years since I went to any ocean beach. I had relatives when I was young that lived in the coolest town named Mukilteo.

The place is close by Everette, Washington State. These were my Pacific Ocean Days.

I lived In Florida- Pensacola for several years. Those were My “Atlantic Ocean” Days. Which ocean do you prefer? I actually like the wild Pacific, but then when you are a kid it just seems a tad more magical, so I may be biased because of age.

Now I am so far away from those beaches in Missouri.

There are some nice shorelines around other water bodies here, but I miss the ocean trips.

So I came up with an idea to correct in my own home, the ocean:

These shower hooks I found and gave a makeover to look totally cool in black and white. Several twins here: 6 in fact. also in my shop in pink and antique gold bronze.

Odd Ball Photos?

I thought I would try my hand at: http://ceenphotography.com/cees-odd-ball-photo-challenge/. I wanted to do one of her other challenges, but have no photos that really work great for them this week. ( Have had a lot of camera woes for a time, so getting new photos was not an option.) Anyway, I have quite a few photos that fit an odd ball theme.

So I present to you a couple of these I found in my photo library:

The first one is an item I have for sale in my Etsy Shop: 

Plant pressed in stone vintage collectible with rawhide hanger.

I think it is a beautiful and unique item. I for one have never seen anything like it. Made in the 70’s with tag. It was made in the town I live in. It is really oddball from any side you look at it. (Except to use it for a shop listing.) Anyone that spots it outside of the retail theme, might think it is rather “different.”

If that is not “odd” enough for you. I give you: 

Really,  i only took it because of the odd egg in the bunch.

Bought these as brown eggs. There was a couple light-brown eggs in the mix, but the one in the middle left row was super white.

How that white egg slipped into the brown container is a mystery we may never know.

A Moment in Time-My photography woes.

So for the WP Daily prompt here:  ahref=”https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/moment-in-time/”>A Moment in Time</a>,  We are to write about the last photo we took and tell about it.

Well, this subject fits because it was truly a photography  nightmare, if there is such a thing.

You my readers, must understand that the last photo I took on my camera became quite an ordeal to almost ruin my day. And I am still facing the fallout.

I took photos of products I had made for Valentine’s day to put on my Etsy shop.  I had one set of cute tags I had made and I was so excited that I got them done. I could post the stuff earlier than I have gotten other Holiday products.

What is it ” Murphy’s Law?”coming into play or what? Why couldn’t the SD card work for me until I got these special holiday goods that have to be put on my shop with a time limit?

The camera said my card needed formatting, but the camera would not do it. I tried to at least get the photos I had taken on my computer; ( Except the last one that would not take!) Again the computer said it needed to format the card. But of course it could not format it either. I spent some frustrating time trying to figure if I could get it to work for me by studying on a lot of sites by searching. I finally gave up and gave in. I went downtown to get a new one.

Of course Walmart, (Where I purchased the camera in the first place) did not carry the kind I needed for my specific camera. I could find this card nowhere!

I finally ordered it on Amazon. Of course it could take 3 weeks to get here. I guess I need a backup camera……..

The Achievement(s) I need to Rejoice In

Ever since I first discovered Etsy many years back, I have wanted a shop to sell 2 things I love from: My handmade crafts and Vintage things. About a year ago, I finally achieved this. It has been slow going, baby step by baby step. Gathering and making things, taking photos (Cannot seem to get perfect in this aspect at all.) Listing, packaging, getting in mail. Keeping up with the shop as well as marketing and making contacts. This achievement will never end, but I have done it. I have sold a couple of things and I am up and running at a steady pace. 

So for the Word Press Photo Challenge I am sharing some photos from my shop:
